The information in this Special Instruction is provided as a guide for installing the 218-6739 High Flow Conversion Kit on 257B Multi Terrain Loaders. Read all of the information that is provided in this publication before you begin installation.

The 218-6739 High Flow Conversion Kit

The installation of the 218-6739 High Flow Conversion Kit consists of the following steps.

Remove the components that are specified from the 218-6495 Pump Lines Gp . See Illustration 2.

Remove the components that are specified from the 218-6175 Work Tool Pump and Mounting Gp . See Illustration 3.

Remove the components that are specified 218-6311 Work Tool Lines Gp . See Illustration 4 for S/N:SLK1-5752. See Illustration 5 for S/N:SLK5753-UP.

Remove the existing Work Tool Handle Control Gp. See Illustration 6.

Install the components that are shown for the Control Manifold and Mounting Gp. See Illustration 7 and Illustration 8.

Install the components that are shown for the Work Tool Pump and Mounting Gp. See Illustration 9.

Your machine must be equipped with a work tool wiring group, that includes the "5-Function" left hand control handle. See Illustration 1.

Use standard values of torque for fasteners and for connectors unless a value is specified.

Temporarily remove the following components in order to facilitate installation of the kit.
- Hydraulic Tank
- Heating and Air Conditioning Unit

Personal injury or death can result without releasing all of the hydraulic pressure.

Release all the pressure from the hydraulic system before any lines are disconnected.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations.

Dump - Move the joystick to the right in order to tilt the bucket downward.

Auxiliary Hydraulic Control (C-) - This control provides hydraulic oil flow to the auxiliary connections on the loader arm. Press the control in order to provide hydraulic oil flow to connector (G) .

Raise - Pull the joystick backward in order to raise the bucket.

Auxiliary Hydraulic Control (A1) - This control provides hydraulic oil flow to the auxiliary connections on the loader arm. Move the thumb wheel downward in order to provide hydraulic flow to connector (E). For high flow mode, connection (F) is used.

Right Hand Trigger - Pull the trigger and hold the trigger on the right hand joystick in order to provide electrical power to pin "B" of electrical connector (A). Release the trigger in order to deactivate the control.

Tilt Back - Move the joystick to the left in order to tilt the bucket upward.

Auxiliary Hydraulic Control (A2) - This control provides hydraulic oil flow to the auxiliary connections on the loader arm. Move the thumb wheel upward in order to provide hydraulic flow to connector (D). For high flow mode, connection (C) is used.
