When reporting the repair, use "PS52031" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Remove all 237-8647 Hinges (chg. HE01) and 105-6855 Hinges (chg. HE00) from dealer parts stock. Note that the "barrel" porton of the hinge had 5 "knuckles" on these change levels.
The current design hinges have a "barrel" porton with 3 "knuckles."

Remove the failed hinge assembly and replace with a new hinge assembly. Note that the barrel portion of the new design hinge has 3 knuckles. Refer to the attached Rework Procedure.

For the 345C and 345D Excavators: Replace the 237-8647 Hinge Assemblies with the 366-6468 Hinge Assemblies.

For the 385C Excavators: Replace the 105-6855 Hinge Assemblies with the 366-6469 Hinge Assemblies.

Rework Procedure

1. Before replacing the broken hinge, measure the original door position.

2. Use a grinder in order to remove the fillet weld on the broken hinge.

3. Clean the surface and locate the new hinge according to the measurements that were previously made.

4. Tack weld the hinge into place. Then complete the 3 mm fillet weld as shown in the images below.

5. Allow the door to cool.

6. Paint the new hinges.

7. Re-assemble the door.
