Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

1. Remove heat shields (1) and (2) .

2. Remove three bolts (3) and three retainers (4) .

3. Remove two bolts (5) and two retainers (6) .

4. Remove elbow (7) .

5. Remove heat shield (8) .

6. Attach a suitable lifting device to exhaust purifier (9). The weight of exhaust purifier (9) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).

7. Remove exhaust purifier (9) .
