Fuel is distributed in the combustion chamber and across burner (3). Glow plug (1) ignites the air/fuel mixture at the start of heater operation. Glow plug (1) acts as an electrical resistor. Glow plug (1) is located on the side of burner (3) in burner assembly (2) .
Flame sensor (4) is a resistor that monitors the operation of the flame over the complete duration of the preheater operation. Flame sensor (4) is located inside burner assembly (2). Flame sensor (4) will change the resistance in relation to the temperature of the flame. The signals are routed to the control unit for processing.
