Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the auger conveyor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auger Conveyor - Remove".

1. Raise the hoppers and install chain (1).

2. Remove cotter pin (2) and shaft (3). Turn shafts (5) counterclockwise in order to relieve the tension on drag conveyor (6).

3. Remove the bolts and guard assemblies (4) and (7).

4. Remove the bolts and guard assemblies (8) and (9).

5. Remove the bolts and plate assembly (10).

6. Remove lock pins (11), side bars (12), and pins (13).

7. Repeat Step 6 on the other side of the drag conveyor.

8. Attach a suitable rope to the bottom portion of the drag conveyor and pull the bottom portion of the drag conveyor to the rear of the machine.

9. Attach a suitable lifting device to drag conveyor (6). Remove the drag conveyor from the machine. The weight of the drag conveyor is approximately 225 kg (496 lb).

10. Repeat Steps 2 through 9 in order to remove the remaining drag conveyor, if necessary.

Installation Procedure

1. Use a suitable lifting device in order to position drag conveyor (6) on the machine. The weight of the drag conveyor is approximately 225 kg (496 lb).

2. Attach a suitable rope to the bottom portion of drag conveyor (6) and pull the bottom portion of the drag conveyor to the front of the machine. Remove the suitable lifting device and the suitable rope.

   Note: During the installation of lock pins (11), bend the bottom of the lock pins toward the front of the machine.

3. Bring the ends of the drag conveyor together. Install pins (13), side bars (12), and lock pins (11).

4. Repeat Step 3 on the other side of the drag conveyor.

5. Install plate assembly (10) and the bolts.

6. Install guard assemblies (8) and (9). Maintain a clearance of 5 ± 2.0 mm (0.2 ± 0.08 inch) between the guard assemblies and the drag conveyor.

7. Install guard assemblies (4) and (7). Maintain a clearance of 5 ± 2.0 mm (0.2 ± 0.08 inch) between the guard assemblies and the drag conveyor.

8. Turn shafts (5) clockwise and tighten the tension on drag conveyor (6). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Drag Conveyors - Adjust" in order to adjust the tension on the drag conveyor.

9. Install shaft (3) and cotter pin (2).

10. Repeat Steps 1 through 9 in order to install the remaining drag conveyor, if necessary.

11. Remove chain (1) and lower the hoppers.
