Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the seat. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Seat - Remove and Install".

At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with the bare hand. Remove the filler cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.

Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, all hoses and all tubes. This will help to prevent fluid loss and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.

1. Close valves (1A) .

2. Remove screws (1) that secure cover (2) .

3. Lift up cover (2). Disconnect wire (3). Remove cover (2) .

4. Remove rubber mat (4) and the insulation from the cab floor.

5. Remove bolts (6) and the washers. Remove cover (5) .

7. Remove control knobs (8), cover assembly (9) and air filter (9A) (not shown).

8. Remove the bolts, the washers, and screws (11). Remove cover (10) .

9. Remove gaskets (12) .

10. Pull capillary tube (15) out of coil assembly (13). Carefully move the capillary tube away from the coil assembly.

11. Disconnect hose assemblies (14) .

12. Remove seals (17), bolts (18), and the washers from both ends of the coil assembly.

13. Remove heater core (16) .
