The "Fuel Air Ratio Control Adjust" customer parameter is a new electronic feature that is used to enhance the electronic Fuel Air Ratio Control (FARC). This feature maximizes engine response while achieving the desired smoke emissions levels. The "Fuel Air Ratio Control Adjust" customer parameter allows the customer to provide a lean fuel mixture to the engine. This parameter affects engine performance during engine acceleration. This parameter also affects engines that work at high altitude conditions. Machines that are operating at a low altitude condition are not affected by the setting of this parameter.
The "Fuel Air Ratio Control Adjust" customer parameter can be set between 100 and 250. As the value is increased, the amount of fuel that is injected decreases. This will effectively lean the fuel. The slight reduction in fueling during engine acceleration can result in reduced smoke and cleaner exhaust emissions.
The default value of 100 has a coefficient of internal adjustment of 1. This value is multiplied by the maximum quantity of fuel that is normally delivered to the engine. This will not change the standard quantity of fuel that is being injected. A parameter that is greater than 100 will reduce the coefficient of internal adjustment to a value that is less than 1. This coefficient is multiplied by the maximum quantity of fuel that is normally delivered to the engine. This leans the fuel mixture from the maximum quantity of fuel.
There is a wide variation of operating conditions for the engine applications that contain this customer parameter. The proper setting of the "Fuel Air Ratio Control Adjust" varies with the altitude and with the demand of the engine. Minimize the engine smoke for your application.
