Removal Procedure

1. Lower the temperature of bushings (19) and use Tooling (F) in order to install bushings (19) in front frame assembly (20). Use a suitable lifting device to support Tooling (F).

2. Use Tooling (E) in order to install two bearings (16) in bar assembly (5). Install ring (17). Use Tooling (G) (not shown) in order to install seal (18).

3. Use Tooling (D) in order to install bearings (15).

   Note: Install bearings to a depth of 9.53 ± 4.06 mm (0.375 ± 0.160 inch) below the outside faces of bar assembly (5).

4. Use Tooling (G) (not shown) in order to install seals (14).

5. Repeat Step 3 and Step 4 for the opposite end of bar assembly (5).

6. Attach a suitable lifting device to bar assembly (5). The weight of bar assembly (5) is approximately 204 kg (450 lb). Position bar assembly (5) on the drawbar and yoke assembly.

7. Raise bar assembly (5) into position on the machine. Install pin (12) and washers (11).

   Note: Use washers (11) in order to obtain a dimension of 2.29 ± 0.76 mm (0.090 ± 0.030 inch) between bar assembly (5) and front frame assembly (20).

8. Install lock (10) and bolts (9). Install cylinder (13).

9. Apply Tooling (H) between inserts (5A) and ballstud (6A). Install cap (8) and install bolts (7).

   Note: As required, use shims (7A) in order to allow the socket to move freely around ballstud (6A). Assemble the same quantity of shims (7A) on both sides of ballstud (6A).

10. Start the engine and run the engine. Extend centershift cylinder (6) in order to raise bar assembly (5).

11. Stop the engine.

12. Remove the suitable lifting device.

13. Install pin (4) and washers (2).

    Note: Use washers (2) in order to obtain a dimension of 2.29 ± 0.76 mm (0.090 ± 0.030 inch) between bar assembly (5) and front frame assembly (20).

14. Install lock (3) and bolts (1) .

End By:

1. Install the centershift lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Centershift Lock - Install".
