Hood May Contact Aftercooler Caterpillar

Hood May Contact Aftercooler

Usage:

AGRICULTURAL TRACTORSCHALLENGER 85E (6JS),
CHALLENGER 95E (6KS) AGRICULTURAL TRACTORS

Problem:

When you open and close the hood, the brackets which secure the headlamps to the hood may rub the aftercooler. The rubbing can leave scratches or gouges in the aftercooler.

Solution:

The rubbing is the result of improper adjustment of the 145-9551 and 145-9552 Brackets. If scratches are found in the aftercooler in the locations shown in Illustration 1, the 145-9551 and 145-9552 Brackets (1) should be adjusted by loosening the nuts and sliding the brackets (1) in the outward direction. See Illustration 2.
