(1) Pressurized oil (2) Pressurized gas |
Note: There are two accumulators on the machine. Both accumulators have the same specifications. One accumulator is used for the quick-drop function, and the other accumulator is used in the charge pressure system.
The accumulator stores potential energy by accumulating a quantity of pressurized hydraulic fluid. The pressurized fluid is stored in a piston type accumulator. Cavity (2) contains dry nitrogen that is charged to 1800 kPa (261.07 psi).
The pressurized hydraulic fluid enters the accumulator into cavity (1) and the fluid creates pressure against the piston and the charged dry nitrogen.
The accumulator for the quick-drop function stores pressurized oil in order to facilitate faster activation of the quick-drop clutch during cold ambient conditions.
The accumulator for the charge pressure system stores pressurized oil in order to facilitate smoother activation of the clutches for the brakes during simultaneous operation of the hook winches and of the boom winches at low idle.
