Introduction

Problem

A quality issue on a lever in the braking system may cause a sudden loss of primary braking, which may result in personal injury or death. The 146-6822 Lever As that is used in the braking system of certain Wheel Loaders and Integrated Toolcarriers may fail due to incorrect usage of material.

Solution

All dealers should promptly tag all machines with "Do Not Operate" labels. The machines should not be operated until a replacement lever assembly is released. Instruct all users to stop operating the affected machines. Do not deliver new machines from inventory until a fitted assembly is released. A service letter will be issued instructing dealers to tag all machines with "Do Not Operate" labels. This will be followed by a second service letter instructing dealers to fit replacement lever assemblies.
