Configure The Machine Type
You can configure a new machine with the "Machine Settings" dialog.
- Start the Display in Service mode.
- From the "Setup Menu - Configuration" dialog, press the soft key ("Installation") in order to list the items under the "Setup Menu - Installation" dialog.
- Use the down arrow key or the up arrow key until "Machine Settings" is highlighted. Press the "OK" key. A dialog similar to Illustration 1 appears.

- Use the down arrow key or the up arrow key until "Grader" is highlighted. Press the "OK" key. A dialog similar to Illustration 2 appears.

- Use the down arrow key or the up arrow key until the desired "System Type" is highlighted. Press the "OK" key. A dialog similar to Illustration 3 appears.
Note: The Sonic Tracer is not listed in the "System Type" dialog. Use "Slope" for "System Type". If a Sonic Tracer is connected to the harness, the AccuGrade System will detect and use it. When setting up a machine that uses sonics, you must configure what other devices are on the machine (for example, Slope).

- Press the "OK" key to continue.

- Press the "Select" soft key to select the Mainfall sensor.

- Use the down arrow key or the up arrow key until the desired "Radio Type" is highlighted. Press the "OK" key.
Select "TCXXXC". Caterpillar systems normally use the TC900 radio or the TC450C radio.
If a 3rd party radio is selected, the data is passed over RS232.

- Use the down arrow key or the up arrow key until the desired "Lightbar" option is highlighted.

- Review the selections. Press the "OK" key in order to save the settings.
Once you have configured the new machine, the system sends updates to the GPS Receiver (if required). A dialog informs you that the GPS Receiver is being configured.
If the changes are successful, you return to the "Setup Menu - Installation" dialog.
If the changes are not successful, a dialog informs you that the GPS Receiver configuration was not updated. In order to solve this:
- Make sure the GPS Receiver is being recognized by the system. In order to do this, check the "Diagnostics" dialog.
- Send a GPS configuration file by reselecting the current design (if the current design contains a coordinate system).
- Send a GPS configuration file using the "GPS Receiver Configuration" item on the "Setup Menu".
- Make sure the GPS Receiver is being recognized by the system. In order to do this, check the "Diagnostics" dialog.

- Press the "ESC" key in order to exit the "Setup Menu - Installation" dialog. The changes take effect immediately.
