3406E and 3456 Generator Set Engines Caterpillar

The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:

• The ECM reads a signal for the filtered fuel pressure that is less than 35 kPa (5.0 psi) or a signal that is greater than 130 kPa (18.8 psi).

• The difference between the filtered fuel pressure and the atmospheric pressure is more than 27 kPa (4.0 psi).

• The filtered fuel pressure changes more than 25 kPa (3.6 psi) during a calibration attempt.

• The procedure for pressure calibration has not been performed on a new ECM or a manual calibration failed.

System Response:

The diagnostic code is not logged in memory. The diagnostic code is only active. The diagnostic code may be viewed on a display module or on the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET).

Test Step 1. Perform the following diagnostic procedure: "Engine Pressure Sensor - Calibrate"

Results:

• OK - STOP
