(1) Reserve tank (2) Dry tank (3) Wet tank |
There are three air tanks that supply the air system and brakes. The tanks are located on the wheel tractor beneath the operator compartment.
The air tanks function in order to contain pressurized air for the air system and brakes. With these tanks, the air compressor does not need to be continuously operating.

Location Of The Air Relief Valve |
The air relief valve is fastened to the air tank. If the air compressor governor does not operate correctly, the air relief valve will open in order to prevent damage to the air system. The setting of the air relief valve cannot be adjusted.
Check Valve
Illustration 4 | g00575499 |
The one-way check valve is used to allow air flow in one direction only. While air flows into the check valve on the internal thread end, a spring becomes compressed and the internal valve will open. Air under pressure now flows through the check valve.
When air flows into the check valve on the external thread end, the air will push the internal valve upward against a seat. The flow of air is now blocked.
