Autoshift Function - The electronic transmission system is equipped with an autoshift function. The autoshift function allows the operator to preset a FORWARD or REVERSE gear for directional changes.

The autoshift function includes the following settings:

  • first gear in forward to second gear in reverse

  • second gear forward to second gear in reverse

  • second gear forward to first gear in reverse

Autoshift function can be selected with push button (7). The push button is located on the left side of the dashboard. The current mode of operation is shown by lights (6) above the push button. When the machine is started, the machine is in the manual mode. No light is lighted. Repeatedly push the button for the autoshift function in order to select the modes of shifting. The lights will display the desired mode. For the best results, change the options with the transmission in NEUTRAL. If the autoshift functions are not desired, the machine can be operated in the manual mode. The modes of the autoshift function are listed sequentially in the next topic.

Modes of the Autoshift Function

First Gear in Forward to Second Gear in Reverse - Push button (7) once for the autoshift function. A directional shift to the FORWARD position always shifts to first gear. A directional shift to the REVERSE position always shifts to second gear. With the transmission in the NEUTRAL position, the display for the transmission indicates "N". The speed shift mechanism is manual. Use the buttons to upshift or use the buttons to downshift. Speed shifts have no effect in NEUTRAL.

Second Gear Forward to Second Gear in Reverse - Push the button for autoshift function (7) twice. When you shift the transmission to the FORWARD position, the transmission always shifts into second gear. When you shift the transmission to the REVERSE position, the transmission always shifts into second gear. The speed shift mechanism is manual. Use the buttons to upshift or use the buttons to downshift. Speed shifts have no effect in NEUTRAL.

Second Gear Forward to First Gear in Reverse - Push button (7) three times for the autoshift function. A directional shift to the FORWARD position always shifts to second gear. A directional shift to the REVERSE position will always shift to first gear.

Auto Kickdown - This feature provides the operator with an auto kickdown mode of operation. Once the feature has been activated by the operator, the transmission will automatically downshift to a lower gear when a significant load increase is detected. Once the load on the machine has been reduced, the operator can return to the desired gear by manually upshifting. The Auto Kickdown will only downshift the transmission. The feature will not automatically upshift the transmission. The auto kickdown functions in FORWARD and REVERSE gears.

To activate the auto kickdown mode of operation, push button (9) that is located in the center of the dashboard. The current mode of operation is shown by light (8) above the push button. When the machine is started, the transmission is in the previously selected mode. If you start up the machine, and the auto kickdown is not selected, push button (9). If the auto kickdown is active, the light is illuminated. In order to achieve the best results, select the auto kickdown with the transmission in NEUTRAL. If the autoshift function is not desired, the machine can be operated in the manual mode.
