Disassembly Procedure

Start By:
- Remove the cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tilt Cylinder - Remove". Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Lift Cylinder - Remove". Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Cylinder - Remove".
- Check the condition of bearing (1). If necessary, use Tooling (A) to replace the bearings with new parts.
Note: The disassembly and the assembly procedure for each cylinder is similar. The procedure which follows shows the lift cylinder.

- Put the cylinder on Tool (B). The weight of the lift cylinder is 57 kg (125 lb). The weight of the tilt cylinder is 60 kg (130 lb). The weight of the steering cylinder is 23 kg (50 lb).
- Use Tool (B) to extend the cylinder.
- Use Tooling (C) to remove head (8) from cylinder body (2) .
- Use Tool (B) to move cylinder body (2) away from rod assembly (9) .
- Remove bolt (3) and washer (4) from piston (7) .
- Remove piston (7) and head (8) from rod assembly (9) .
- Remove seal assembly (5) and wear ring (6) from piston (7) .
- Remove the following items from head (8) : O-ring seal (10), backup ring (11), wear ring (12), seal assembly (13), U-cup seal (14), retaining ring (16) and lip seal (15) .
Note: Check the condition of all seals and of all components. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
