Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
NOTICE |
---|
Do not use the same vacuum sampling pump for extracting oil samples that is used for extracting coolant samples. A small residue of either type sample may remain in the pump and may cause a false positive analysis for the sample being taken. Always use a designated pump for oil sampling and a designated pump for coolant sampling. Failure to do so may cause a false analysis which could lead to customer and dealer concerns. |
Testing the coolant can be done at your CLAAS dealer. Caterpillar S·O·S Coolant Analysis is the best way to monitor the condition of your coolant and your cooling system. S·O·S Coolant Analysis is a program that is based on periodic samples.
Level I is a basic analysis which should be performed at every oil change or after every 250 hours of use.
Level II is a comprehensive analysis which should be performed during semiannual maintenance or after every 1000 hours of use.
