Hydrostatic Drive Motor - Install

Usage:

TH210 CEC

Installation Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from improper lifting or blocking.

When a hoist or jack is used to lift any part or component, stand clear of the area. Be sure the hoist or jack has the correct capacity to lift a component. Install blocks or stands before performance of any work under a heavy component.

Approximate weights of the components are shown. Clean all surfaces where parts are to be installed.

  1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

  2. Place suitable cribbing on a suitable pallet fork. Attach a suitable nylon lifting sling and a suitable hoist to the hydrostatic drive motor. The weight of the hydrostatic drive motor is approximately 48 kg (106 lb). Use the lifting equipment to lift the hydrostatic drive pump onto the cribbing. Detach the nylon lifting sling from the hoist.

  16. Install bolts (2) in order to connect drive shaft (1) to the front axle.

  17. Remove the floor jack from the machine.

  18. Fill the hydraulic system with hydraulic oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change".

End By:

  1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery Disconnect Switch (if equipped)".

  2. Remove the boom cylinder lock and lower the boom. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Boom Cylinder Lock - Removal and Installation Procedures".

  3. Remove all the chocks from the wheels that were installed during the removal procedure.
