The 9EQ1253 Switch Panel provides additional protection from corrosive elements. The 9EQ1253 Switch Panel is adaptable to R1600 (S/N: 9EW1-UP) and R1700G (S/N: 8XZ1-UP) by referring to the following procedure:

Procedure:
- Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
- Disconnect and remove switch panel (1) from panel assembly (3). Disconnect and remove parking brake control (2) from panel assembly (3) .

- Remove panel assembly (3) .
- Modify panel assembly (3). Refer to Illustration 2.

- Install 9EQ1253 Switch Panel (6) to panel assembly (3) .

- Install parking brake control (2) to panel assembly (3). Reconnect parking brake control (2)
- Install and connect 9EQ1245 Harness (7) .
- Install the panel assembly removed in Step 3.
- Check the operation of the 9EQ1253 Switch Panel .
