Installation
1. Disconnect the battery and shut off the fuel supply.
2. Disconnect the wire that connects to the 6T1990 Limit Switch. Remove the terminal from the disconnected end of the wire. Install the 9G9314 Terminal as a replacement for the terminal that was removed.
3. Remove the 6T1990 Limit Switch from the governor.
4. Install 5B3180 Nut (1) and a 5N4185 Washer on the threaded end of 9X0239 Limit Switch (2). Install the threaded end of limit switch (2) into the hole where the original limit switch was removed.
5. Turn limit switch (2) IN until the correct low idle rpm is achieved. Tighten nut (1) to a torque of 25 ± 4 N·m (19 ± 3 lb ft).
6. Move the throttle lever to the FUEL ON position and verify that limit switch (2) turns OFF with 1.3 ± 0.5 mm (.050 ± .020") travel.
7. Install 9X1029 Wire Assembly (ground wire) (3). Connect one end of wire (3) to a terminal on limit switch (2). Connect the other end of wire (3) to the cylinder block, at the same location where the ground wire for the shut-off solenoid is connected.
8. Connect the 9G9314 Terminal (installed in Step 2) on wire (4) to the remaining terminal on limit switch (2). [Wire (4) connects from the solenoid valve to limit switch (2).]
9. Connect the battery and turn on the fuel supply.
