Introduction
THE DIP TANK HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO ACT AS A PERIPHERAL PIECE OF SERVICE EQUIPMENT TO AN IDLER REBUILDER.
THIS UNIT ENABLES THE OPERATOR TO ADD POST-WELDING PRESERVATIVE TO REBUILD ROLLERS WHILE THE WELDER IS REBUILDING ANOTHER ROLLER.
Installation And Maintenance
The Dip Tank is shipped with the air cylinder removed and boxed separately. Use the illustration on page 10 as a guide for mounting the cylinder to the upper frame. Connect the copper tubing for the air line. After checking for equipment damage following shipping, locate the unit so that it fits into the repair shop's work flow system.
In order to put the Dip Tank into service:
NOTE: THE ILLUSTRATION SHOWS A "TYPICAL" WORK FLOW SYSTEM WHICH INCLUDES THE END COLLAR PULLER AND THE ROLLER BUFFER.
1. Add fluid to the system's oiler on the air line.
2. Connect the shop air line to the Dip Tank's air system.
3. Adjust the air regulator (item 2 on p. 13) to its operating pressure.
4. The two needle valves (item 12 on p.13) should be opened slightly; then, run the work tray up and down while adjusting the needle valves to set the desired travel speed.
5. Check that the plug in the base of the tank is closed.
6. Fill the tank with preservative.
7. The unit is now operational.
KEEP HANDS CLEAR OF THE WORKTABLE WHILE IT IS IN OPERATION. |
NOTE: IF THE VALVES ARE NOT SET PROPERLY, THE TABLE MAY DRIFT.
Maintenance
Maintain the fluid level in the oiler and change as necessary.
The work tray guide shafts will need to be cleaned in order to prevent a buildup of preservative that might stall the work tray.
