NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Install Tooling (C) and a hoist to the engine. Use the hoist to carefully install the engine in the machine. The weight of the engine is 1815 kg (4000 lb).

Install hoses (1), (2), and (3) .

Install any additional hoses, wires, or tubes to the engine.

Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct procedure.

Evacuate the air conditioner system. Charge the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134A Refrigerant" for the correct procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NEDG5065, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.

End By:

Install the air cleaner. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Cleaner - Remove and Install".
Install the engine compartment shield. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Compartment Shield - Install".
Install the hood and engine enclosure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood and Engine Enclosure - Install".
Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
