Operational Checks

Usage:

TH210 CEC

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.

Personnel can be injured during the steering check.

To help prevent possible personal injury, keep all personnel away from the machine or in clear view of the operator when the machine is in operation during steering checks.

----------------------

Before any operational checks are performed, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting" and Testing and Adjusting, "Visual Inspection".

Steering Time

Note: Measuring the steering time will determine if there is a reason to check the priority valve or the metering pump.

  1. Turn the steering wheel clockwise until stop (3) contacts stop pad (4) .

  1. Turn the steering wheel counterclockwise. Record the time for a full turn from one stop to the other stop.

Note: Turn the steering wheel at a speed of 60 rpm. This is approximately 1 full turn of the steering wheel per second.

  1. Repeat this procedure several times in each direction in order to obtain an average time. The time for a full turn from one stop to the other stop should be between 2 to 3.5 seconds. If the time is higher, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Steering System Troubleshooting".

Steering Turns
