  4. Engage the coupler pins. Place the quick-coupler pin switch in the LOCKED position.

  5. Verify that the quick coupler pins are engaged by pushing down on the work tool before you operate the machine.

Releasing the work tool

------ WARNING! ------

Disengaging the coupler pins will release the work tool from control of the operator.

Serious injury or death may result from disengaging the work tool when it is in an unstable position or carrying a load.

Place the work tool in a safe position before disengaging the coupler pins.

------ WARNING! ------

Disconnect the hydraulic hoses before uncoupling the work tool from the machine in order to prevent the work tool from moving, and the possibility of injury or death.

NOTICE

Auxiliary hoses for work tools must be removed before the quick coupler pins are disengaged.

Pulling the work tools with the auxiliary hoses could result in machine damage.

  1. Lower the work tool to a few inches above ground level. Then, lower the work tool to the ground by using the float function. Release the hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic lines. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".

    NOTICE

If you experience difficulty with connecting the auxiliary hoses repeat the procedure to relieve pressure. Attempting to relieve the pressure by force will damage the quick disconnect.

  2. Disconnect any auxiliary hoses.
