Engine and Machine Warm-Up

Usage:

570 4XR

NOTICE

DO NOT OPERATE ANY HYDRAULIC SYSTEM WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING AT THE LOW IDLE SPEED. Operating the hydraulic systems will stall the engine and may damage the engine. Wait until the engine speed is greater than 1200 RPM to operate the hydraulic systems.

  1. Allow a cold engine to warm up at low idle (less than 1000 rpm) for at least five minutes.

After five minutes, increase the engine speed to above 1200 rpm.

  1. Observe the IQAN monitor frequently during operation.

    ------ WARNING! ------

Stay clear of this work tool during operation. Entanglement could result in personal injury or death. Flying objects from this work tool could result in personal injury or death.

    ----------------------

  1. Operate the feed rollers until the oil temperature reaches 15 °C (60 °F).

  1. Cycle all controls in order to circulate warm hydraulic oil through the hydraulic system.

After the engine has been started, observe the following recommendations:

  • Allow the engine to warm up for a total of 10 minutes when the outside temperature is higher than 0°C (+32°F).

  • Allow the engine to warm up for a total of 15 minutes when the outside temperature is below 0°C (+32°F).

  • More time may be required if the outside temperature is less than -18°C (0°F) or if the hydraulic functions are sluggish.

Note: The warm up times may be greatly reduced if the machine preheater is active.
