Installation Procedure

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Install a suitable lifting device on the backhoe bucket cylinder. Position the backhoe bucket cylinder onto the backhoe stick. The weight of the backhoe bucket cylinder is 65.83 kg (145 lb).
- Install pin (11) and roll pin (10) .

- Turn elbow fitting (9) in order to connect the hydraulic hose.
- Install pin (8), washer (7), and retaining ring (6) .

- Remove the lifting device from backhoe bucket cylinder (4) .
- Connect two hoses (3) to the backhoe bucket cylinder (4) .

- Install two hose brackets (5) .
- Install hose clamp (2) .
Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the fluid capacities and the filling procedures.
End By: Install the backhoe bucket. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Backhoe Bucket Remove and Install" in this manual.
