(1) Lockup clutch

Thickness of four new discs and of three new plates ... 29.61 ± 0.47 mm (1.166 ± 0.019 inch)

Thickness of one new 8E-8328 Friction Disc ... 4.83 ± 0.08 mm (0.190 ± 0.003 inch)

Thickness of one new 1T-1897 Plate ... 3.43 ± 0.05 mm (0.135 ± 0.002 inch)

Bolt tightening sequence for bolts (2)

(2) Torque for 26 bolts ... 240 ± 25 N·m (180 ± 18 lb ft)

Use the following procedure to tighten 26 bolts (2) :

Tighten eight of the bolts in numbered sequence 1 through 8. Then, tighten all 26 bolts in numbered sequence 9 through 34. Overlap the starting point in order to make sure that all of the bolts are at the required torque.

(3) Torque for ten bolts ... 80 ± 10 N·m (60 ± 7 lb ft)

(4) Torque for two bolts ... 80 ± 10 N·m (60 ± 7 ft)

(5) Torque for six bolts ... 30 ± 5 N·m (22 ± 4 lb ft)

(6) Torque for 12 bolts ... 50 ± 7 N·m (37 ± 5 lb ft)

(7) Lubricate the sealing lip with lubricant that is being sealed.

(8) Torque for 12 bolts ... 120 ± 15 N·m (88 ± 11 lb ft)

(9) 1T-1257 Springs for one-way clutch

Note: Always install new springs (9) in the one-way clutch. The stator should turn freely in a clockwise direction. Rotation is viewed from the input end (engine end).

(10) Torque for three bolts ... 240 ± 25 N·m (175 ± 18 lb ft)

(11) Torque for one bolt ... 430 ± 50 N·m (320 ± 37 lb ft)

(12) 9M-8808 Spring

(13) Torque for eight bolts ... 30 ± 5 N·m (22 ± 4 lb ft)

Use the following procedure to tighten eight bolts (13) :

Tighten eight of the bolts in numbered sequence 1 through 8. Then, tighten the eight bolts in numbered sequence 9 through 16. Overlap the starting point in order to make sure that all of the bolts are at the required torque.

Bolt tightening sequence for bolts (14)

(14) Torque for 30 bolts ... 135 ± 15 N·m (100 ± 11 lb ft)

Use the following procedure to tighten 30 bolts (14) :

Tighten eight of the bolts in numbered sequence 1 through 8. Then, tighten all 30 bolts in numbered sequence 9 through 38. Overlap the starting point in order to make sure that all of the bolts are at the required torque.

(15) Torque for eight bolts ... 80 ± 10 N·m (60 ± 7 ft)

(16) Lubricate the seal groove that is located in the hub with the lubricant that is being sealed. Install the seal. Lubricate the seal with a small amount of the lubricant that is being sealed.

(17) Torque for 12 bolts ... 50 ± 7 N·m (37 ± 5 lb ft)
