This article introduces new procedures to troubleshoot the Interlock Electronic Control System.

These procedures are with the operator in the seat and with the armrest in the LOWERED position.

Table 1
Troubleshooting Procedures
Condition     Cause     Notes
The park brake indicator is flashing and the armrest indicator is not on when you start the engine.     1. The park brake switch is shorted to ground (F780-PK).     1. If the machine is equipped with auxiliary hydraulics, verify the problem with ET Software in order to read the work tool ECM.
The park brake indicator is on and the armrest indicator is flashing when you start the engine.     1. The armrest and/or seat switches are shorted to ground (G983-GN and/or G985-PU).     1. If the machine is equipped with auxiliary hydraulics, verify the problem with ET Software in order to read the work tool ECM.
The park brake indicator is flashing and the armrest indicator is flashing when you start the engine.     1. Short to ground on solenoid return wire (975-WH).
2. There is an open circuit on solenoid return wire (975-WH).
3. Short to the battery on the transmission pilot solenoid (H416-GN).
4. Short to the battery on the implement pilot solenoid (P988-OR).
5. Short to the battery on the implement detent coil (P988-OR).
6. Both the park brake switch is shorted to ground (F780-PK) and the armrest and/or seat switches are shorted to ground. Check the following wires (G983, G984-PK, and/or G985-PU).
1. The control module checks this wire for a fault when you start the engine. This is the return wire for the transmission pilot solenoid, the implement pilot solenoid and the implement detent coil.
2. The control module checks this wire for a fault when you start the engine.
This is the return wire for the transmission pilot solenoid, the implement pilot solenoid and the implement detent coil.
3. If the machine is equipped with auxiliary hydraulics, verify the problem with ET Software in order to read the work tool ECM.
The park brake indicator is flashing and the armrest indicator is off while the engine is running and the auxiliary hydraulic system has been enabled. The Park Brake Switch is enabled.     1. There is an open circuit on the hydrostatic transmission solenoid (H146-GN).
2. Short to ground on the hydrostatic transmission solenoid (H416-GN).
3. Short to ground on the parking brake switch (F780-PK).
3. If the machine is equipped with auxiliary hydraulics, verify the problem with ET Software in order to read the work tool ECM.
The park brake indicator is off and the armrest indicator is flashing while the engine is running and the auxiliary hydraulic system has been enabled. The Park Brake Switch is enabled.     1. Short to ground on the implement pilot solenoid (P988-OR).
2. There is an open circuit on the implement pilot solenoid (P988-OR).
1. If the machine is equipped with auxiliary hydraulics, verify the problem with ET Software in order to read the work tool ECM.
The park brake indicator is flashing and the armrest indicator is flashing while the engine is running and the auxiliary hydraulic system has been enabled. The Park Brake Switch is enabled.     1. There is an open or there is a short on both the transmission pilot solenoid (H416-GN) and the implement pilot solenoid, and/or on the implement detent coil (P988-OR).
2. The operator is out of the seat and there is an open circuit and/or a short to ground on the transmission pilot solenoid (H416-GN).
3. There is an open circuit and/or a short to ground on the transmission pilot solenoid and there is an open circuit on the armrest and/or seat switches (G983-GN and/or G984-PK and/or G985-PU).
4. Short to ground on both the parking brake switch (F780-PK) and the armrest and/or seat switches (G983-GN and/or G984-PK and/or G985-PU).
5. Short to ground on the implement detent coil (P988-OR).
6. There is an open circuit on the implement detent coil (P988-OR).
3. If the machine is equipped with auxiliary hydraulics, verify the problem with ET Software in order to read the work tool ECM.
The park brake indicator is on and the armrest indicator is flashing while the engine is running and the auxiliary hydraulic system is enabled. The Park Brake Switch is enabled.     1. The operator is out of the seat.
2. There is an open circuit on the armrest and/or seat switches (G983-GN, G984-PK, and/or G985-PU).
1. If the machine is equipped with auxiliary hydraulics, verify the problem with ET Software in order to read the work tool ECM.
