Description of Change: New keypads are available for the listed machines. The new keypads are sealed in order to prevent contaminants from entering the keypad. The sealed keypads will yield longer service life. The replacement keypads have 15 keys. If the new keypad with 15 keys is used to replace a keypad with 10 keys, the top row of keys on the pad with 15 keys is not used.
Adaptable To: The new keypads are effective with 550 (S/N: 7ZN180-UP), 570 (S/N: 4XR196-UP), and 580 (S/N: 7CN219-UP) Wheel Harvesters. The new keypads replace the keypads that are listed below. The former keypads are not cancelled. The new keypads are adaptable to first production of the listed machines.

- Refer to Service Manual module, RENR3016, "Disassembly and Assembly, 550 Wheel Harvester, 570 Wheel Harvester, and 580 Wheel Harvester Machine Systems", "Preparation for Disassembly" for instruction on preparing the wheel harvester for disassembly.
- Turn the two battery disconnect switches to the OFF position. The two battery disconnect switches are located on the left side of the engine compartment.
- Remove former keypad (1), film (2), and rod (3).

- For machines with a keypad that has 10 buttons, remove the wires from the 16 pin connectors. Mark the locations of the wires so the wires can be installed into the connectors of the new keypads.
- Install the new keypad and rod.

- Install the new decals.
- Route the wiring harness from the keypad through the clips which are located under the armrest. The routing is shown in illustration 4.

- Unplug two 10-pin connectors (4) from the former keypad. Plug the 10-pin connectors from the new keypads into the interface box. Plug the 10-pin connector with seven wires in the connector port that is closest to the side of the box.

- Route the wire on the back of the seat. The routing is shown in the above illustration.
Replacement of the Keypad with 10 Buttons
Note: The replacement keypad for the former keypad with 10 buttons has 15 buttons.

- Insert the wires that were removed in Step 4 into the new connector at the locations that were marked.
- Connect the connector for left keypad (6). Connect the connector for right keypad (5) .
