The Special Instruction, REHS0802, "Ultrasonic Testing Procedure for Brake Bands" is now available.
This special instruction provides the procedure for the inspection of brake bands by ultrasonic testing procedures. This procedure should be used in place of the magnaflux inspection that is referenced in Service Magazine, SEPD0228, 17 October 1994.
Ultrasonic testing of the brake bands provides a more detailed inspection of the weld joints.
The Special Instruction, REHS0802 can be obtained through the normal literature ordering channels. This information can also be found on the Service Information System (SIS).
