Spacer blocks are required when over the tire steel tracks are used on the listed machines. The spacer blocks will provide the additional clearance that is needed to prevent the steel track from contacting the loader lift arms. Details for fabrication of the spacers are provided in this article.

The loader lift arms rest on stop blocks that are mounted on the 152-1171 Step Assembly (RH) and the 142-9177 Step Assembly (LH). The 152-1171 Step Assembly (RH) is shown in Illustration 1.

The installation of spacer blocks between the step assemblies and the lower frame repositions the step assemblies and the stop blocks. This raises the loader lift arms in order to provide the additional clearance between the steel track and the loader lift arms.

1. Fabricate four spacer blocks from 25 mm (1.0 inch) flat steel. Paint the four spacer blocks with paint (3). See Table 1 and Illustration 2.

2. Remove the 152-1171 Step Assembly (RH). Save the nuts and the washers for the reinstallation of the step assembly.

3. Reinstall step assembly (C). Use two of the fabricated spacer blocks (1) and four new bolts (2). Reuse the existing washers and the existing nuts. See Illustration 3.

   Note: Correct orientation of the spacer blocks (1) is shown in Illustration 4.

4. Repeat Step 2 and Step 3 for step assembly (D) .
