Slot (1) has been machined into the machine main frame. The slot is located in the part of the housing for the track drive that is bolted to the main frame. The slot has dimensions of 42 mm (1.65 inch) diameter and 25 mm (1.0 inch) depth. This allows you to replace the broken studs without removing the 136-4524 Final Drive Planetary. Once the broken planetary stud is lined up with the slot, the stud can be removed and replaced. The previous design required removal of the planetary group in order to repair the broken studs. The Mobil-trac system belt still needs to be removed in order to replace the studs. Perform the following procedure in order to remove the belt and replace the broken studs.

  1. Follow the procedure in the Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, KENR5019, "Auxiliary System", "Track Tension" in order to release the tension on the Mobil-trac system belt.

  1. Follow the procedure in the Disassembly and Assembly, KENR2888, "Track" in order to remove the belt. This service manual is for the older machines with serial number prefixes of (S/N: 8BM; 6TN). The service manual for serial number prefixes (S/N: ABB; ACM) will be released at a future date. The procedure for the older machines can be used for the newer machines.

  1. Rotate the final drive planetary in order to line up the broken stud with access hole (2) in the housing.

  1. Remove the broken stud and replace the broken stud.

  1. Follow the procedure in the Disassembly and Assembly, KENR2888, "Track" in order to replace the Mobil-Trac System belt.

  1. Follow the procedure in the Testing and Adjusting, KENR5019, "Auxiliary System", "Track Tension" in order to correctly tension the belt.

  1. Follow the procedure in the Testing and Adjusting, KENR5013, "Propel System", "Belt Alignment" in order to align the belt.
