Hoist Control Valve - Install

Usage:

D400E II 8PS

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

  2. Lubricate O-ring seals with an appropriate lubricant.

  3. Attach appropriate lifting slings and a hoist to hoist control valve (9). Place the hoist control valve into position on the machine. The weight of the hoist control valve is 41 kg (90 lb). Install three bolts (18), the washers, and the nuts that secure hoist control valve (9) to the side panel.

  4. Connect wire connectors (17) at each end of the hoist control valve.

  5. Install the four O-rings and connect four hydraulic hoses (16).

  6. Position the two O-rings and two hose assemblies (15) to hoist control valve (9). Install four half clamps (14), eight bolts (13), and the washers that secure the hose assemblies to the hoist control valve.

  7. Position the two O-rings and two hose assemblies (12) to hoist control valve (9). Install four half clamps (11), eight bolts (10), and the washers that secure the hose assemblies to the hoist control valve.

  8. Position the O-ring and hose assembly (8) to hoist control valve (9). Install two half clamps (7), four bolts (6), and the washers that secure the hose assembly to the hoist control valve.

  9. Attach appropriate nylon lifting slings and a hoist to the transmission cover assembly (4).

  10. Place the transmission cover assembly into position on the machine. The assembly weighs 40 kg (88 lb).

  11. Place strut (5) into position. Install the two nuts that secure the strut to the machine.

  12. Install four bolts (3), the washers and the nuts.

  13. Place tube (2) into position on the machine. Install four clamps (1). Tighten the clamps to a torque of 48 ± 10 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft).

  14. Check the fluid level in the steering and brake system tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7064, "Hoist, Steering, and Brake System Oil Level - Check" for the proper procedure.
