Water Temperature Regulator And Manifold

Usage:

Remove & Install Water Temperature Regulator and Manifold

1. Drain the coolant from the engine.

2. Loosen hose clamps (2). Remove the five bolts, and remove regulator housing (1) and the gasket.

3. Disconnect water temperature sensor unit (4) from the manifold. Remove the three bolts, and remove manifold (3) from the cylinder head and the water pump cover.

4. Remove water temperature regulator (5) from the housing.

5. Remove lip-type seal (6) from the housing.

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the water temperature regulator and manifold.

6. Install seal (6) in the housing with tooling (A) until the seal is in the housing counterbore seat.

7. Install regulator (5) in the housing as shown.

8. Put the gasket in position between the cylinder head assembly and manifold (3). Put clean engine oil on the O-ring seal, and put it in position on manifold (3). Install the manifold. Connect water temperature sensor unit (4).

9. Put the gasket in position between the manifold and regulator housing. Install regulator housing (1). Tighten hose clamps (2).

10. Fill the cooling system to the correct coolant level. See the Maintenance Manual.
