Electric Drive Pump (Parking And Secondary Brake Release) - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the electric drive pump (parking and secondary brake release). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electric Drive Pump (Parking and Secondary Brake Release) - Remove".

    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

  1. Position the electric drive pump on a suitable work bench, as shown.

  2. Remove four bolts (2) and the lock washers in order to remove pump assembly (3) from motor assembly (1).

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

    Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.


  3. Remove the following items from pump assembly (3): nut (8), gasket (7), screw (6), spring (5) and ball (4).

  4. Remove six bolts (9) and cover (10) from motor assembly (1).

  5. Remove gasket (11) and gasket (12) from cover (10).

  6. Remove coupling (13) from cover (10).

  7. Remove six bolts (14) in order to remove cover (15) from motor assembly (1).

  8. Remove gasket (16) from cover (15).
