  1. Install bearing (4) and ring (5) in the rear track roller frame.

  1. Make sure that the seal bore that is in the rear track roller frame is clean and free of dirt, oil, and old adhesive.

  1. Put 7M-7456 Bearing Mount Compound on the seal bore.

  1. Use Tooling (C) to start seal assembly (6) in the rear track roller frame.

  1. Use Tooling (D) to seat seal assembly (6) in the rear track roller frame.

  1. Put clean SAE 30W oil on the bearing, the ring, and the seal assembly.

  1. Cut Tooling (B) to a tight fit inside seal assembly (6) when the ends of Tooling (B) make contact.

  1. Put Tooling (B) in position in seal assembly (6). Make sure that the back leg of Tooling (B) is in the gap between the seal assembly and the front track roller frame.

  1. If sleeve (3) was removed, heat the sleeve to a maximum temperature of 175 °C (347 °F). Use temperature resistant gloves to handle the sleeve. Install the sleeve on the front track roller frame.

  1. Fasten a hoist and a suitable lifting device to front track roller frame (2) .

  1. Install the front track roller frame in the rear track roller frame. Make sure that sleeve (3) is within 25.4 mm (1.00 inch) of the seal assembly that is in the rear track roller frame.


    NOTICE

    Make sure that you use caution when you install the front track roller frame. Damage could occur to the seal assembly in the rear track roller frame.


  1. Remove Tooling (B) from the seal assembly.

  1. Use Tooling (A) to pull the front track roller frame in position in the rear track roller frame.

  1. Align the slots in the front track roller frame with retainers (1). Install the retainers.

  1. After the track has been adjusted, fill the recoil spring compartment with oil to the correct level.

    Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Recoil Spring Compartment" for the correct filling procedure.

End By: Connect the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.
