Retarder - Disassemble
Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
- Separate the retarder from the torque converter. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter and Retarder - Separate". The information is in this manual.

- Remove four bolts (1) and retainer (4) in order to remove bearing (2) and bearing race (3) from stator (5) .

- Turn stator (5) over 180 degrees. Use Tooling (A) and a hydraulic press in order to press bearing (2) and bearing race (3) from stator (5) .

- Use Tooling (B) in order to remove retaining ring (6) from rotor (7) . Remove seal ring (9) from rotor (7) . Remove ring carrier (8) from rotor (7) .
