(15) Add shims to achieve a shim pack thickness of 0.03 to 0.08 mm (0.001 to 0.003 inch) less than the measured gap before the bolts are tightened.

(16) Lubricate the seal lip with a small amount of the lubricant that is being sealed. Coat the outer diameter of the seal with 5P-3413 Sealant.

(17) Apply Loctite LV Core Plug Sealant to both sides of the 5P-8245 Hard Washer prior to assembly. Loctite 648 is also approved as an alternative.
