Valve (Suspension Cylinder Charging) - Remove

Usage:

785C 1HW

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Install the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chocks - Remove and Install".

Note: The following procedure illustrates the removal and installation of charging valve (1) from right rear suspension cylinder (2). This procedure can be used for the removal of the charging valve from the left rear suspension cylinder.

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

  1. Install blocking between frame assembly (3) and A-frame (4), before the nitrogen charge is released from suspension cylinder (2). The blocking is used to support the weight of frame assembly (3).

  2. Release all nitrogen pressure from suspension cylinder (2). Refer to Suspension Cylinder Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, SENR1496, "Suspension Cylinder (Rear) - Purge and Charge" or Special Instruction, SEHS9411, "Servicing the Suspension Cylinders for Off-Highway Trucks" for the correct procedure.

  4. Remove bolt (9), the washer, and the clip.

  5. Disconnect wire harness (8) from payload pressure sensor (7) at the electrical connection.

  6. Remove four bolts (10). Remove charging valve (1) and payload pressure sensor (7) from suspension cylinder (2) as a unit.

  7. Plug the pressure ports on suspension cylinder (2). This helps to prevent fluid loss and prevent contaminants from entering the system.
