The radiator is suspended from a hoist in order to facilitate removal of components from the bottom of the radiator.

Note: The studs in tank assemblies (22) and (23) are coated with paint. Remove the paint from the studs. Nuts (24) and (27) can now be removed from radiator core assembly module (26) . Some of the studs will come out of tank assemblies (22) and (23) when nuts (24) and (27) are removed.

  1. Use the hoist and raise the radiator assembly far enough in order to be able to remove components from the bottom of the assembly. Rotate the radiator assembly around 180 degrees. Nuts (25) , nuts (27) , stiffening strip (24) and stiffening strip (28) must be removed in order to remove tank assemblies (22) and (23) from radiator core assembly module (26) .

  1. Gaskets (35) are positioned between radiator core assembly module (26) and the tank assemblies.

    Illustration 16g00489412

  1. Use the hoist and lay the radiator core assembly module flat on the floor. Remove Tooling (A) from top channel (38) . Note the position of four gussets (37) and two channels (38) for assembly purposes. Remove four bolts (36) from gusset (37) and channels (38) . Remove the bolts from the other three gussets. Remove the gussets and the channels from radiator core (26) . The weight of the radiator core is 59 kg (130 lb) .

    Illustration 17g00489413

  1. Any studs (39) that were removed from tank assemblies (22) or (23) must be installed. Use double nuts in order to install the studs in the tank assemblies. Install the studs to the same height as the studs that remain in the tank assemblies. Use 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound in order to secure the studs in position.

    Illustration 18g00489405
