Parking Brake - Disassemble
Disassembly Procedure

Start By:
- Remove the drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft - Remove and Intall" .
- Remove the cotter pin. Disconnect the parking brake cable from parking brake lever (1) .
Note: The axle is displayed from the machine for photographic purposes. The parking brake can be disassembled and assembled with the axle on the machine.

- Remove eight bolts (2) and parking drum (3) .

- Remove bolt (4) .

- Remove washer (5), shims (6), O-ring (7), and yoke (8) from the pinion shaft.

- Remove four bolts (9) and entire parking brake assembly (10) from the axle housing.

- Mark each of the three springs (11) for proper replacement.

- Remove parking brake lever (1) .

- Use Tooling (A) to remove brake springs (12) .

- Remove brake shoes (14) and (15). Remove spring (13) from the shoes.

- Inspect the parking brake. Replace parts that are worn and broken.
