  17. Install wear ring (8) on piston (6).

    ------ WARNING! ------

In order to prevent possible personal injury, use a suitable fixture to support the weight of the front suspension cylinder rod. Do not attempt to stand the front suspension cylinder rod on end without the use of a suitable support. Failure to use a suitable support fixture could result in injury or death to personnel in this area.

  18. Use Tool (B) and a suitable hoist to position rod assembly (7) so the axis of the rod assembly is vertical. Use a suitable fixture to support the weight of the rod assembly. Rod (7) weighs approximately 801 kg (1765.9 lb).

  19. Use Tool (B) and a suitable hoist to install housing assembly (2) on rod assembly (7). Housing assembly (2) weighs approximately 435 kg (959.01 lb).

Note: Lubricate the rod and the housing before assembly. This will make assembly easier. This will also maintain the lubrication in the front suspension.

    Illustration 17g00486004

  20. Use Tool (B) and a suitable hoist to remove the front suspension from the fixture. Place the front suspension on a level surface so the axis is horizontal. Support the front suspension with blocking.
