Fan and Fan Drive - Remove

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the fan guards. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Guard- R&I". The information is in this manual.

  1. Attach a suitable nylon lifting sling and a hoist to fan assembly (1) .

  1. Remove the six bolts that secure fan assembly (1) to fan adapter (2) . Be careful not to damage radiator core (3) during the removal of the fan assembly.

    Note: The radiator has been removed for photographic purposes.

  1. Loosen the tension from fan drive belts (6) by loosening two nuts (5) . Two nuts (5) are on adjustment rod (4) .

  1. Remove belts (6) from the fan drive.

    Note: Be careful not to damage radiator core (3) during the removal of the fan drive.

  1. Attach a suitable nylon lifting sling and a hoist to fan drive (8) . Remove four bolts (7) that secure fan drive (8) to the engine. Remove fan drive (8) from the engine. The weight of fan drive (8) is 22 kg (50 lb) .
