  1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

  2. Attach two link brackets (A) and the appropriate lifting strap to the hydraulic tank, as shown. Without hydraulic fluid, the weight of the hydraulic tank is approximately 135 kg (297 lb). With hydraulic fluid, the weight of the hydraulic tank can approach 400 kg (881 lb).

  3. Slowly lower the hydraulic tank into the chassis. As the hydraulic tank is installed, carefully rotate the hydraulic tank in order to clear machine components.

  4. Locate the access panel directly under the chassis. Loosen bolts (18) and open the access panel. Align bypass valve (17) in the center of the access hole, as shown. Close the access panel and tighten the bolts.

  5. Align the bolt hole pattern of the hydraulic tank on the chassis. Remove link brackets (A) from the hydraulic tank. Install three bolts (16) and the washers to the chassis.

  6. Install two bolts (14) and the washers that secure accumulator (15) to the hydraulic tank.

  7. Install two bolts (12) and the washers that secure bracket (13) and the hoses to the hydraulic tank.

  8. Connect the two hoses and tighten two retaining nuts (9). Connect the two hoses and tighten two retaining nuts (10). Connect the two hoses and tighten two retaining nuts (11).

  9. Install bolt (7) and the washer that secures clamp (8) and the hose to the hydraulic tank.

  10. Install twelve bolts (5), the twelve washers and six half flanges (6) that secure the hydraulic hoses to the hydraulic tank.

  11. Install eight bolts (3), the eight washers and four half flanges (4) that secure the hydraulic hoses to the hydraulic tank.

  12. Install seven bolts (1) and cover (2) to the hydraulic tank.

End By:

  1. Lower the cab. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR9124, "Cab - Tilt".
