Parking Brake - Adjust
Adjust the parking brake so that the parking brake is applied when you raise the parking brake handle to the third click or to the fourth click. If you must raise the parking brake handle above the fourth click in order to apply the parking brake, adjust the parking brake. Use the following procedure in order to adjust the parking brake.
- Fully lower parking brake handle (1) .

- Raise parking brake handle (1) to the second notch.
- Loosen forward jam nut (4) on cable housing (3). Loosen jam nut (4) as far as possible.

- Pull cable housing (3) rearward until you feel a 89 N (20.0 lb) resistance.
- Hold cable housing (3) in position. Tighten jam nut (2) until jam nut (2) contacts bracket (5) .
- Tighten jam nut (4) and jam nut (2) against bracket (5) .
- Raise parking brake handle (1) in order to check for the correct adjustment. Repeat this procedure if the adjustment is not correct.
