将 卡特彼勒 长效性冷却液加上或混和其它不符合 卡特彼勒 EC-1 技术规格的冷却液会降低冷却液的功效和缩短冷却液的工作寿命。 对于预混合或浓缩的冷却液，只能使用卡特彼勒 产品或符合卡特彼勒EC-1 规格的市售产品。 所有的延长剂只能是卡特彼勒 ELC。 不遵循这些建议会缩短冷却系统零部件的寿命。 |

如果原先使用的是长效冷却液，就需要用清水把冷却系统冲洗干净。 不需要其他的清洁剂。 使用下述程序来更换长效冷却液。

- 缓慢松开冷却系统压力盖 (1) ，以便释放掉系统压力。
- 打开散热器底部的排放阀 (2) 。 排放阀 (2) 可从机器的左边靠近。 将冷却液排放到适当的容器中。

- 用净水冲刷冷却系统直到排出的水清澈为止。 关闭排放阀 (2) 。
- 此时更换水温调节器。

参考请参阅拆解和组装, SENR3611, "用于 Caterpillar 制造机器的 3126 发动机"。
- 加入 ELC（Extended Life Coolant，长效冷却液）。
参考有关冷却系统的加注容量，请参阅操作和保养手册, "加注容量"。
- 起动发动机。 在不盖冷却系统加注口盖的情况下运转发动机，直到水温调节器开启，冷却液液位稳定为止。
- 保持散热器右上侧目测表 (3) 中的冷却液液位。
