Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Connect the steering frame lock.

Follow the recommended procedure for removal and installation of tires and or wheel assemblies. Ensure that the machine and tire and or wheel assembly are properly supported at all times. Improper procedures that are used to remove and install tires and or wheel assemblies can result in personal injury or death.

Typical Example

1. Place wood block (1) between the rear axle housing and the frame. Repeat this step on the opposite side of the machine. This will prevent the rear axle housing from oscillating.

2. Raise the hood.

3. Remove four bolts (2) and ladder assembly (3).

4. Attach suitable lifting slings and a hoist to the guard rail, as shown.

5. Disconnect two electrical connectors (4) and two hoses (5) from the windshield washer pump.

6. Remove bolt (6) and the clip. Place the electrical harness aside.

7. Remove two bolts (7) from the top of the hydraulic tank.

8. Remove two bolts (8), four bolts (9) and four bolts (10). Use the hoist to remove fender assembly (11). The weight of the fender assembly is 86 kg (190 lb).

   For Tooling (A)

9. Position Tooling (A) under the rear loader frame, as shown.

10. Use Tooling (A) to raise the rear of the machine so that the rear tires are off the ground.

11. Position Tooling (A1) under the rear loader frame, as shown. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1328, "Lift Group (Stand - 60 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).

12. Use Tooling (A1) to raise the rear of the machine so that the rear tires are off the ground.

13. Fasten suitable lifting slings and a hoist to the tire, as shown. Remove bolts (12).

14. Use the hoist to remove the tire and the rim. The combined weight of the tire and of the rim is 340 kg (750 lb).

1. Use suitable lifting slings and a hoist to position the tire and the rim, as shown. The combined weight of the tire and of the rim is 340 kg (750 lb).

2. Install bolts (12). The initial torque for bolts (12) is 570 ± 80 N·m (420 ± 60 lb ft). Then turn bolts (12) by an extra 60 ± 5 degrees.

3. Lower the machine. Remove Tooling (A) or (A1). Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1328, "Lift Group (Stand - 60 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).

4. Use the hoist to install fender assembly (11). The weight of the fender assembly is 86 kg (190 lb). Install four bolts (10), four bolts (9), and two bolts (8).

5. Install two bolts (7) in the top of the hydraulic tank.

6. Position the electrical harness. Install the clip and bolt (6).

7. Connect two hoses (5) and two electrical connectors (4) to the windshield washer pumps.

8. Remove the hoist and the lifting slings from the guard rail.

9. Install ladder assembly (3) and four bolts (2).

10. Remove wood blocks (1) from both sides of the machine.
