Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the radiator and the fan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator and Fan - Remove and Install".
2. Remove the radiator core. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator Core - Remove and Install".

1. Remove four bolts (1) that secure the fan shroud to lower radiator tank (2) .

2. Repeat Step 1 for the opposite side of lower radiator tank (2) .

3. Attach Tooling (A), a hoist and a suitable lifting device to the radiator fan and to frame assembly (3). The combined weight of the radiator fan and of frame assembly (3) is 182 kg (400 lb).

4. With lower radiator tank (2) on the floor, remove six bolts (4) and the washers.

5. Repeat Step 4 for the opposite side of lower radiator tank (2) .

6. Use the hoist and the lifting device to carefully remove the radiator fan and frame assembly (3) from lower radiator tank (2) .

   Note: The weight of lower radiator tank (2) is 41 kg (90 lb).

Installation Procedure

1. Apply 5P-3975 Rubber Lubricant to the sealing areas of the end tank seals and of the radiator cores.

2. Attach Tooling (A), a hoist and a suitable lifting device to the radiator fan and to frame assembly (3). The combined weight of the radiator fan and of frame assembly (3) is 182 kg (400 lb).

3. Carefully install the radiator fan and frame assembly (3) on lower radiator tank (2) .

   Note: Leave Tooling (A), the hoist and the lifting device installed in order to support the radiator fan and frame assembly (3) .

4. With lower radiator tank (2) on the floor, install the washers and six bolts (4) .

5. Repeat Step 4 for the opposite side of lower radiator tank (2) .

6. Install four bolts (1) that secure the fan shroud to lower radiator tank (2) .

7. Repeat Step 6 for the opposite side of lower radiator tank (2) .

End By:

1. Install the radiator core. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator Core - Remove and Install".
2. Install the radiator and the fan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator and Fan - Remove and Install".
