PROBLEM
The existing 324-9706 Insulation used on the 380-0633 Pre-Heater Group, surrounding the exhaust pipe, may be loosely fitted and can get pushed back by limbs and other foreign objects, from underneath the upper frame during machine operation on certain 521B and 522B Track Feller Bunchers, equipped with the Arctic Start Arrangement. This exposes the hot exhaust pipe to debris located under the oil pan. |

In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 11% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer. |
ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to the attached Rework Procedure. It is important to rework, reroute, and install the new exhaust sleeve insulation over the existing flex exhaust pipe and install the new tube assembly according to the Service Letter and Special Instructions to help eliminate limbs and other foreign objects, underneath the upper frame plate, from pushing the installation back from the exhaust pipe. Clean-out and rework are required for machines equipped with a pre-heater group for Arctic Start Arrangement. |
