PROBLEM
Show/hide table
The existing alternator and alternator mounting group may fail on certain 797F off-highway trucks. If the existing alternator fails it may cause over / undercharging. If the existing guard assembly or belt tensioner fails, it could result in a thrown alternator belt and loss of electrical charge.
In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 7% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer.

ACTION REQUIRED
Show/hide table
Please carefully review the Service Claim Allowances Notes prior to applying this program.
Group 1 Off-highway trucks requires the replacement of the alternator mounting bracket, a new alternator, improved belt drive system and improved guard assembly, as well as the replacement of a coolant line to improve clearance for the new alternator guard assembly.
Group 2 off-highway trucks already contain the new alternator, mounting group and coolant line, so only the belt drive components and new guard-related components are needed.
Refer to Special Instruction REHS9653, "Procedure to Install the 437-0125 Charging Alternator Gp on Certain Off-Highway Truck Engines", for the installation of the alternator and drive belt systems.
